Gunung Walat, Sukabumi – Education and Training by Indonesian Ministry of Forestry Center of Education and Training was held on November 6-8, 2014 in Gunung Walat University Forest, Sukabumi.

This training conducted an inventory in the field that aimed to recap, process, or analyze the measurement results from Center for Forest Area Stabilization throughout Indonesia.

The theme of the training was “Training, measurement, enumeration, and reenumeration of temporary sample plots and permanent sample plots” and attended by 6 participants of Forestry Vocational High School graduates throughout Indonesia.

“We go to Gunung Walat in order to prepare them to go to the field and some of them will join the 6 people for data entry. We collaborate with the Forestry Education and Training Center in this training and it is funded by REDD+ managements” said Head of Forest Inventory of Directorate of Forestry Resource Monitoring Inventory of Directorate General of Forestry Planning, Mr. Herdiman.

According to him, this activity will be continued with a material at Forestry Education and Training Center for 1 month about data entry collected from the field.

He added that the reason to be conducted at Gunung Walat is an ideal place because of its natural vegetation and forest products resources.

“This might represent other places and perhaps the closest one from Bogor” she concluded.
