Coaching of new RXVII members of IPB Faculty of Forestry Environmentalist (Rimpala)

Gunung Walat, Sukabumi – Coaching of new RXVII members of IPB Faculty of Forestry Environmentalist (Rimpala) was held on May 12, 2013, in Gunung Walat University Forest.

The event was attended by 11 members of the Faculty of Forestry Rimpala, Bogor Agricultural University. This activity is a joint coaching program for all divisions in Rimpala, they are Forest Mountain, Tree Climbing, and Nature Sports.

“We chose Gunung Walat University Forest (GWUF) because it fits our development criteria. We can track in forest areas, move trees for tree climbing, and the main thing is to search white caves” said Muhammad Irfan Danu as the chief executive of this activity.

The first activities carried out for the young generation of RXVII when they were in GWUF were making travel maps and observing the vegetation of plants around the forest area. Materials taught in this coaching program were 1) natural bivouac material, that is temporary/emergency shelter in nature to protect from various weather disturbances, wild animals, and wind; 2) tree moving material with anchor technique; 3) vertical rescue as an additional material and; 4) Cave search team and making a map with bottom to top techniques.

“It’s fun to do a joint adventure so we can get new experiences that will not be forgotten. With increased experience, our knowledge is also increased. We hope that we will continue to be able to do adventures that can add to our insight by enjoying the natural beauty of God’s creation and being grateful for the vast natural beauty by continuing to maintain and care for it” explained Dewi Ayu Wulandari as the field coordinator for this activity.
