Gunung Walat, Sukabumi – KOMPAK (The Most Cool Youth Association) event of Forest Products Department (DHH) of IPB Faculty of Forestry had taken place in Gunung Walat University Forest (GWUF) on December 18-19, 2010.

KOMPAK is an annual event as an orientation for students of Forest Products Department. This event was attended by all 46th (2009) batch of DHH students totalling 69 people, 77 committee members, 10 lecturers, and 12 staff.

The event was filled by sharing, coaching, outbound, and games that aimed to improve leadership, cohesiveness, and cooperation within students. The main objective of KOMPAK was to strengthen the relationship between lecturers, students, and staffs.

According to Eka Satria, the committee chairman, the theme of KOMPAK was unity in togetherness of the DHH family. The event was held in GWUF because the facilities, venue, and place were very suitable to introduce the 46th generation of DHH students to GWUF.

In this activity, Dr. Wayan Darmawan as Head of Department of Forest Products also participated.

“I have a responsibility that KOMPAK is held well. This activity is very interesting because of the fun outbound, good terrain, and a very supportive place. Gunung Walat is the ideal place for events like this”, said Dr. Wayan Darmawan.

“Students are very satisfied with KOMPAK and GWUF is a good example of plantations” said Dr. Nyoman, the supervisor of Himasiltan (Student Association on Forest Products).
