Summer Course of Tokyo University of Agriculture Japan

Gunung Walat, Sukabumi – Summer Course of Tokyo University of Agriculture, Japan was held on August 27-31, 2014 in Gunung Walat University Forest, Sukabumi.

The summer courses conducted various activities, such as observing the flora and fauna in Gunung Walat, the potential of natural resources produced, and the community forestry.

The whole series of the event created a good impression on Gunung Walat. As stated by a participant from Japan, Ryo Katsuka, Ph.D.

“At Gunung Walat, although the forest here is rather small it feels like a natural forest with an ecosystem that is still preserved even though it is among the community. I think this is very good” he said.

The man who claimed to have come to Indonesia for the first time was so fascinated by the natural conditions in Gunung Walat University Forest.

“This is the first time we come to Indonesia and especially at Gunung Walat. I love this place and, of course, I also like Indonesia because it has a good place, the food is very good, and the people are good when they are here” explained Ryo Katsuka, Ph.D., who claimed to have come to Gunung Walat to look for dragonfly species.
