Gunung Walat, Sukabumi – Selection Process for 19 Candidates of Nature Lovers Students (Mapala) UMN Tangerang had been held on 9-11 February 2018 in Gunung Walat University Forest, Sukabumi.

The Student Activity Unit (UKM) of Mapala UMN (Multimedia Nusantara University) Tangerang had held a selection process for the 7th new members’ candidate in Camping Ground of GWUF.

According to Yogi Putera, who was Chairman of the 5th Batch of Mapala UMN, Mapala UMN which was established in 2009, originally only a nature lovers community, and now one of the UKT with highest interest grade.

“It is still a community. It was Ultime Mountain before became a UKM. Because one of the requirement to establish a UKM is having 30 members. Now it is a UKM named Mapala” explained Yogi who was currently studying Visual Communication Design.

Mapala UMN with the headquarter in Scienta Street of Boulevard, UMN Campus, Gading, Serpong, Tangerang had previously conducted similar activities in the same place last year. Now carrying the theme “Understanding and Application of Basic Materials” this activity was attended by 19 prospective members and 26 committees.

“Examiner selection material that has been given includes first aid, making bivouac, rigging, trap, cooking, stretching and survival” said Committee Chairman, Ferdinandus Hardi Pasgoro, when met at the location.

This Batch 2015 Students Majoring in Animation said that activities in the field were held as a form of assessment to find whether it was good or not to join the Mapala of Multimedia Nusantara University. It was planned that there would be a further selection.

“We will have further education in land navigation, heavy currents, and inauguration” he said.
