Location Survey by the Plant Protection Department of IPB Faculty of Agriculture

Gunung Walat, Sukabumi – Survey by the student of the Department of Plant Protection at the Faculty of Agriculture of IPB took place on July 19, 2011 in Gunung Walat University Forest.

This survey was an initial assessment for the location of graduate students practicum of entomology and taxonomy of insects in the Department of Plant Protection. There are 14 laboratory staff and lecturers that attend this survey.

“GWUF is very good as a conservation area so there are many insects. Some courses need to observe forest insects and water insects and GWUF is suitable as a practicum location” said Dr. Nina Maryana, M.Si as practicum lecturer and as the Laboratory Head of Insect Biosystematics of Plant Protection Department.

“GWUF is managed by IPB so that it is easy to access” she added. The activities include the survey for the possibility of camping and observing suitable locations for practicum sites, field observations, and insect collections for initial samples
