The Summit Event of Gebyar Himakova by Department of Forest Resources Conservation and Ecotourism, Faculty of Forestry, IPB

Gunung Walat, Sukabumi – The Summit Event of Gebyar Himakova by Department of Forest Resources Conservation and Ecotourism, Faculty of Forestry, IPB had taken place in Gunung Walat University Forest (GWUF) on 26-28 November 2010.

Before the summit event at this GWUF, pragebyar events were held at IPB Dramaga Campus, whose activities included family gathering of the FRCE Department, the introduction of the FRCE Department, the introduction of Himakova, clean environmental actions, planting of the tree, and seminars.

The Gebyar Himakova Summit Event was opened by Dr. Ir. Haris Muntari, M.Sc.F as Himakova supervisor and closed by Dr. Ir. Agus Hikmat, M.ScF as Secretary of the FRCE Department who represented the Head of FRCE Department, Prof. Dr. Sambas Basuni, MS.

The participants of the Gebyar Himakova were the 79 new students of 46th Batch of FRCE Department. In addition, there were 69 committee members and 100 senior class students.

“The aim of Gebyar Himakova is to foster the professionalism of FRCE students in the field of conservation in general and to improve the cohesiveness of FRCE students,” said Dr. Ir. Agus Hikmat, M.Sc.F.

According to the Chairman of the Gebyar Himakova Committee, Muhammad Zulfikar, this activity was also to directly introduce GWUF as an education forest managed by the Faculty of Forestry to Batch 46 Student.

“The theme of Gebyar Himakova is synergizing spirituality, solidarity, and leadership spirit, in realizing a formidable, insightful, ethical, and responsible conservationist” said Muhammad Zulfikar.

“Activities during GWUF included conservation implementation, observing forest conditions, creativity night, outbound, education tours, and the inauguration of new himakova members,” added the Committee Chairman.
