Vegetation analysis by students of the 49th batch of Environmental Engineering and Management Program of IPB Diploma School

Gunung Walat, Sukabumi – Vegetation analysis by students of the 49th batch of Environmental Engineering and Management Program of IPB Diploma School has been conducted on 15-16 December 2012 in Gunung Walat University Forest.

This vegetation analysis was followed by 151 people consisting of 3 lecturers, 11 assistants, and 137 students. The purpose of this analysis was to find out the various forms of seedlings, pole poles and trees in Gunung Walat University Forest (GWUF) with measurements through the method of squares, quadrants, and lines.

At the previous batch, this activity was always conducted only in the Bogor Botanical Gardens, but for the 49th batch we were determined to be able to get to know the outer nature like the forest so that we could increase knowledge of the types of plants in the GWUF, said Gandring Suryo as committee chairman.

“GWUF is a really cool educational forest. The first time I came to GWUF, I was immediately greeted by the beauty of the forest landscape, the panorama and the beautiful environment and the real nature. The guide provides a lot of useful information about the various properties of the parts of the tree in the forest. Practicum to GWUF makes us more loving and caring for the environment and its services are good and timely, the rooms are comfortable, and the guiding is friendly”, added Gandring Suryo.
