The Practices of Forest Products Industry by Students of Forestry Faculty, Universiti Putra Malaysia

Gunung Walat, Sukabumi – The Practices of Forest Products Industry by Students of Forestry Faculty, Universiti Putra Malaysia had been held on May 13-17, 2017 in Gunung Walat University Forest, Sukabumi.

This practice was attended by 3 representatives of UPM students.

According to a student from UPM, the five-day activity at Gunung Walat was filled with the practice of tapping the pine and copal sap and studying the social and cultural communities around the forest.

“We learn which qualities are good and which are not between sap. We also learn the process from the start until the end of the way to supply the sap to the industry” he said.

According to him, the results of the practice at Gunung Walat were not only the knowledge that was obtained, but also the good relations between Indonesia and Malaysia were getting closer in the future.

“The most important allied relationship between Malaysia and Indonesia is the most important in here. So we hope the relationship can be continued for students from UPM” he concluded.
