Gunung Walat, Sukabumi – The Gathering of Gunung Putri Bogor Big Family took place on 22-24 June 2012 in the Gunung Walat University Forest.

This gathering was attended by 8 family heads from various regions consisting of 30 people including children with the group leader, Heru Pamuji.

The gathering was supposed to strengthen the family because the opportunity to gather was so rare and this kind of momentum was used properly.

Heru Pamuji explained that the idea of visiting the Forest Gunung Walat University is based on the fact that recreation today tends to a modern atmosphere, resorts and hotels meanwhile that family wants another atmosphere, that is in the forest. Incidentally, GWUF is also an educational forest that is educational for children, so that there are many benefits.

Events that are held during the gathering are well prepared because they are busy for 3 days. The activities included August-17th-style games between families, introductory discussions and presentations on forest education, tracking into the forest, exploring karst natural caves, etc.

“Children know various types of plants including those useful for medicine. Not only seeing the forest and beautiful scenery, but they can also adding knowledge and they finally know that in the forest there are a lot of medicinal plants,” Heru Pamuji said.

“We are happy and hopefully can come back here, satisfied with good service, facilities, and we are impressed,” said one family member.
