Gunung Walat, Sukabumi – Political training for youth by KNPI Kabupaten Sukabumi took place on 19 June 2013 in Gunung Walat University Forest.
Regional Office (DPD) of Indonesian Youth National Committee (KNPI) of Kabupaten Sukabumi hold a political education and training for the young generation in Gunung Walat University Forest (GWUF) Hall. The event was attended by leaders, administrators, and local members of Kecamatan Administrators (PK) DPD KNPI, Mass Organizations and Youth Organizations (OKP). The training was a program of National Unity, Politics, and Community Protection Office (Kesbangpolinmas) of Kabupaten Sukabumi.
The themes of this training were “With Political Education for Our Young Generation, We Increases Political Awareness of Youth in Democracy”.
The speakers of this training were the Regent of Kabupaten Sukabumi, Secretary of Kabupaten Sukabumi, Regional Parliament Speaker of Kabupaten Sukabumi, Chairperson of the DPD KNPI (Jalil Abdillah), Head of the Kesbangpollinmas Office of Kabupaten Sukabumi (Muhammad Yusuf), Head of Community Development Department of Sukabumi Police (Simin A Wibowo), and Commander of Sukabumi Military Office (Lt. Col. Inf. Fifin Firmansyah). In this training, the speakers gave speeches and directives in politics for the young generation.
“Some of the things that need attention at this time are: 1) the dissemination of SARA-related issues that disturb national peace and stability such as many riots throughout Indonesia; 2) efforts to overcome problems such as poverty, ignorance, corruption; 3) under the pretext of democracy and human rights, some people break some rules which against our national culture and norm; 4) the development of neoliberal thinking that instils ideologies that we should not accept and; 5) it is expected that the KNPI and OKP will be the pioneers to lead the public to be aware of democracy so that the people use their voting rights in the 2014 local election” explained Adjo Sardjono, MM as the Secretary of Kabupaten Sukabumi.
“This activity is a form of communication between regional leaders and youth generation such as KNPI, OKP, and mass organizations. On the other hand, this activity also used to unify views about something that we must address, especially regarding security, peace, and order related to conflict vulnerability. Through this activity, if God wills, everything can be resolved”, explained Adjo Sardjono.
“The level of public trust in political parties is decreasing, this is our challenge that we must think about, and there is a mechanism that we manage so that this society needs to be convinced and invited together that we are not part of unscrupulous and bad moral people” said Badri Suhendi as The Speaker of Sukabumi Parliament.
“The direction of our democracy is about how we maintain the existence of this nation to remain a unitary nation. This has become a fixed standard because we may have different thoughts and different opinions as long as it does not threaten the Republic of Indonesia” explained H. Sukmawijaya as the Regent of Sukabumi.
