Planting 2,000 Pine Seedlings by ConocoPhillips Indonesia

Gunung Walat, Sukabumi – Ceremonial planting 2,000 Pines by ConocoPhillips Indonesia took place on December 18, 2011, in the Gunung Walat University Forest (GWUF) in Sukabumi.

The planting of 2,000 pine seedlings in the GWUF area by ConocoPhillips Indonesia in 2011 was the third time after 2009 that plant 2,000 trees and after 2010 that plant 3,000 trees. This program is a form of community service by ConocoPhillips Indonesia which is fully supported and facilitated by GWUF.

This ceremonial activity was preceded by the presentation of the current conditions of GWUF by the Executive Director of GWUF, Ir. Budi Prihanto, MS. The ceremony then continued by the ceremonial planting event by HSE Manager of ConocoPhillips, Faisal, with the Executive Director of GWUF. There were also members of the PROPER Evaluation Board; Ministry of Environment, Djismun Kasri; Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Forestry IPB, Dr. Naresworo Nugroho; Lecturer of the Faculty of Forestry of IPB, Dr. Yadi Setiadi and; 15 staff of ConocoPhillips Indonesia.

In this event, there was also a review of the plant which was planted by ConocoPhillips in 2009 and 2010.

“We are very grateful for the collaboration with Gunung Walat University Forest, this is ConocoPhillips’ commitment to improving environmental sustainability. This tree planting is expected to reduce emissions in the air and this is an example for other similar industries” said Mr. Faisal as the Health, Safety, and Environment Manager of ConocoPhillips.
