Gunung Walat, Sukabumi – Shooting of the Gunung Walat University Forest (GWUF) by DAAI TV in Bumiku Satu program has taken place from June 27 to July 1, 2011.

DAAI TV is one of the local private TV stations that air in the region of Jabodetabek and not commercial TV stations. DAAI TV programs are more purposed towards education, social community, religion, etc. One of the programs is preaching the environmental conservation.

Talking about the environment, what is done by GWUF is the reason that makes DAAI TV raise how GWUF is successful in managing its environment, especially its forests.

GWUF can be used a good example for the community that to preserve the environment is not difficult. The GWUF is proven able to change the previously barren and empty land into a forest that can be utilized by all living organism in and around the forest.

The themes raised include the benefits of forests for all, research on GWUF that produce forest added value, and preservation of natural resources in the forest.

The main target of this program is the young people to encourage them doing their best for their environment. That kind of program almost does not exist so that the show on GWUF can be used as a good reference for young people to take responsibility for the surrounding environment.

The speakers come from the Faculty of Forestry lecturers who’s experts in their specification and students who are currently doing research on GWUF. This event consists of 5 episodes which each episode has a different theme. The program will be aired every Saturday at 12.00 on July  9,16,23,30, and August 6, 2011. The replay will also be aired on Sunday at 11:30. The duration of each episode is 30 minutes.
