Gunung Walat, Sukabumi – IAAS LC IPB Fieldtrip & Training 2012 has been held on 19-20 May 2012 in Gunung Walat University Forest.
International Association of Students in Agricultural and Related Sciences (IAAS) is an international organization established in Belgium, which aims to promote and exchange agricultural information throughout the world. Currently, IAAS membership reaches 50 countries and Indonesia is one of them.
This field trip is the annual agenda of IAAS Local Committee (LC) IPB. For this year, it is held in Gunung Walat University Forest and attended by 33 members of IAAS LC IPB. “The aim of this field trip and training in this GWUF is to add knowledge about agriculture in the forestry sector”, said Annisa Rindra Utami, the 48th batch student of Islamic Economics Study Program of IPB as the Fieldtrip Project Training and this training.
Activities carried out in GWUF were presentations of GWUF introduction by GWUF assistant manager, M. Adly Rahardian Lubis, IAAS togetherness, games, morning gymnastics, bonfires, roasted corn, forest tracks, tapping agathis sap, pine, exploration of Cipereu Karst Nature Cave. These activities also aim to familiarize and build cohesiveness of the members.
In the training, there were also sharing and discussion with the GWUF Executive Director Ir. Budi Prihanto, MS. “GWUF people are very welcome, the place is also good, IAAS friends like it very much”, added Annisa.
