Forest Management Practices (PTKH) of Department of Forestry, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau (UNRI), 2017

Gunung Walat, Sukabumi – Forest Management Practices (PTKH) of Department of Forestry, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau (UNRI) took place on 4-16 September 2017 in Gunung Walat University Forest, Sukabumi.

During their stay at Gunung Walat, students studied basic forestry sciences, such as forest inventory, pests and forest disease, forest nurseries, utilization of non-timber forest products, and community forestry.

In addition to practising at Gunung Walat, the students visited Gunung Gede Pangrango National Park, wood processing factory in Sukabumi and Perum Perhutani in Cianjur.

This annual event at Gunung Walat was a part of cooperation of education between Faculty of Forestry of IPB and Faculty of Agriculture of  UNRI.

Hopefully, after following this practice, students could apply the sustainable forest management maximumly so that the balance of the ecosystem in it remained good and our society would be able to utilize forest products wisely.
