FCT (Forester Corps Training) of IPB Faculty of Forestry

Gunung Walat, Sukabumi – FCT (Forester Corps Training) of IPB Faculty of Forestry has been held on 16-17 September 2011 in Gunung Walat University Forest.

FCT is an orientation program of new students who will enter the Faculty of Forestry IPB. Students who take part in BCR are students who enter IPB in 2010 or the 47th batch. FCT activities in Gunung Walat University Forest (GWUF) were attended by 375 students, 114 committee members, 50 alumni, and 15 lecturers.

The aim of this program is introducing students to the Faculty of Forestry as a whole and building the soul of the foresters. “This FCT activity is held in GWUF to introduce GWUF and forest ecosystems, hoping that the new 47th batch of Fahutan (Faculty of Forestry) student will be proud of GWUF which has an international scale and is well-known everywhere” said Ramdhani from the 45th batch, who is the chairman of the 2011 FCT committee.

Activities held during the FCT in GWUF are hospitality programs, an introduction of GWUF by managers, a night of intimacy to build a family atmosphere, outbound, jungle survival, and leadership training.

“We support this activity because it is very important for students to know what the forest is like to be more familiar with what in the forest. Through this BCR activity, it is hoped that the unity soul will grow so that wherever they are” said Prof. Bambang Hero Saharjo as the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry who also opened the FCT program.

“GWUF comes from empty land. Thanks to the participation of students who are also actively planning to make dense forests and many benefits we can get from it” he added.
