Gunung Walat, Sukabumi – The activities  of  basic training of leadership and organization affairs by Pharmacy Students Association (University of Pakuan, Bogor) have been conducted in Gunung Walat University Forest on 25 – 27 February 2011.

This event was referred to as PLOT (Pharmacy’s Leadership and Organization Training) and has been conducted regularly every year in GWUF since the year  2008.

“Gunung Walat University Forest is one of the best education forests existing in Indonesia.  Also, condition of this forest supports very much our activities due to the abundance of medicinal plants occurring in this forest, and after all, pharmacy, as our specialization is of course related with medicinal plants.  Gunung Walat is exciting for us because the vision and mission of our school is also approaching the use of natural materials as medicine.  This is one of the reasons which makes us choose Gunung Walat for this event”, said Chrys Suwary, the chairman of the event organizer.

Chrys said further, “In the aspect of security and safety, Gunung Walat is reliable for our activities.  The trails / tracks inside the forests have been designed for education and traning in the aspects of leadership, cooperation, and mental development.  Gunung Walat has made collaboration with some medical institutions for handling emergency situation if there is case of accident or injury among the participant of this event”.

“In the future, it is expected that cooperation between Department of Pharmacy of our College and  Gunung Walat University Forest could run smoothly and properly, so that pharmacy students could do some research on the potency of medicinal plants in Gunung Walat”, Chrys added.
